Developer Charles Jefferson Adds Long Empty Samter’s to Regional Portfolio
Charles Jefferson, whose investment groups own Montage Mountain Resorts, the Connell Building on North Washington Avenue and the Leonard Theater on Adams Avenue, purchased the 43,712-square-foot building for the asking price of $500,000 through his company, Scranton-Samter LP, according to the deed made public Wednesday.

Plan for Relocation of Scranton Counseling Center
A relocation of Scranton Counseling Center from the city’s downtown to South Side entails redevelopment of old buildings in both locations, officials said. The plan calls for the private, nonprofit Scranton Counseling Center to move from the 300 block of Adams Avenue downtown, its location for nearly 30 years, to a building in South Side that Mr. Jefferson would renovate for the behavioral health services agency.
